Works in Auckland, New Zealand have displayed a less common trenchless technology in action to complete a sewer rehabilitation without excavation.
In Newmarket, Auckland, TDG Environmental recently renewed 150mm and 225mm pipes, completed manhole upgrades, and carried out CCTV inspections to confirm rehabilitation needs.
The steam rising from our truck is part of the FPVC Fold and Form process – a trenchless technology that uses heat and pressure to renew underground sewer pipes without excavation.
The technique involves folding the liner into a “÷U’ or “÷C’ shape prior to insertion, and then using heat and/or pressure to form it back to a circular shape in intimate contact with the host pipe.
“We’re proud of the minimal disruption to traffic and residents, as we completed the works in a single night shift~ quietly, efficiently and sustainably,” TDG said in a statement.
