Global pipe supplier Amiblu has had its hands full, with a double installation of pipes in Vilnius, Lithuania to improve the local stormwater drainage.
Two installations were implemented at the very same time, both by means of trenchless microtunneling, with one in the very center of Lithuania’s capital, and the other on the outskirts.
Amiblu supplied almost 3500m of Hobas jacking pipes in diameters DN 1280 and DN 1499, parts of them equipped with a highly resistant PU inliner, for the ambitious project, which will considerably reduce the risk of street flooding in Vilnius.
The new pipe infrastructure will draw water from the streets and thereby ease the load on the existing combined sewage pipeline.
The use of trenchless methods meant that despite works being completed in the heart of the city, there were minimal disruptions to residents.
