Petrojet has marked a key milestone in the company’s growing trenchless capability, successfully completing its first horizontal directional drilling (HDD) crossing on the WAVE C3A project in the United Arab Emirates.
The operation was the result of detailed planning, geotechnical investigation and careful engineering. A full HDD design, including stress analysis and pull force calculations, was developed to ensure the pipeline’s integrity throughout installation.
Despite challenging sub-surface conditions, the crossing was delivered safely and on schedule, with full compliance to health, safety and environmental standards. Close coordination between site crews and technical teams played a critical role in the success of the operation.
“This milestone reflects the collective effort and dedication of our HDD and support teams. It demonstrates our capability to deliver complex crossings safely and efficiently,” Petrojet HDD Operation Manager and Steering Engineer Mohamed Elshawa said.
“This milestone wasn’t just about pulling a pipe; it was the result of a carefully coordinated process that began long before the rig moved on site.”
