In Hopfgarten, Tyrol, an exciting hydropower plant project is progressing well in its mission to deliver clean energy.
The project by Kommunalbetriebe Hopfgarten and Österreichische Bundesforste has a total investment of over $60 million (AUD), and once complete, will supply around 30 million kWh of renewable electricity annually.
At the heart of it is a 5.4km penstock built with Amiblu Flowtite GRP pipes (DN1800, PN10 and PN16).
Amiblu head of marketing Alexandra Goldys said the Amiblu team has been pleased to contribute to a project of great importance.
“Thanks to our innovative angular cut system that allows deflections of up to 3° per joint, the design team managed to eliminate over 60 per cent of the originally planned pipe bends – making the alignment more space- and cost-efficient,” she said.
“Proud to see our solutions play a role in projects like this. What a nice step forward for sustainable infrastructure in the region.”
