Seattle’s King County Department of Natural Resources and Parks has announced the mark of its Coal Creek sewer upgrade ready to begin.
The project has just received Salmon-Safe certification, making it the first wastewater infrastructure project in the United States to have that certification.
The project will replace almost two miles of sewer pipeline, improving water sustainability for the growing populations in the City of Bellevue, Washington and surrounds.
“Many thanks to our capital and sustainability teams who took this critical infrastructure project to the next level to deliver multiple benefits for people, fish, and wildlife,” the department said in a statement on LinkedIn.
The five-year construction project begins this spring, and is set to be one of the the nation’s longest trenchless tunnel digs.
